Feverfew herb is an anti-inflammatory herb that helps improve blood vessel tone and head health.
It is believed that one of the active ingredients in Feverfew called parthenolide, naturally inhibits the release of serotonin and prostaglandin, hormones that may lead to decreased blood vessel tone in the head. According to three double-blind trials with migraine patients, feverfew reduces the severity, duration, and frequency of migraine headaches.3,4,5 These successful studies employed dried, powdered leaves.
Feverfew has been recommended during times of increased stress for overall head health. Mason's Feverfew 100mg Capsules Standardized Herbal Extract has been standardized to 0.2% Parthenolide.
Recommended Dosage Adults, take 1 capsule one to two times daily as a dietary supplement, preferably with meals.
Contraindications
Individuals taking anticoagulants or prescription blood-thinning medications or who regularly take over-the-counter painkillers should consult a health care provider before using feverfew, as the combination can result in internal bleeding.
Should not be used during pregnancy.
