Studies show that zinc gluconate lozenges when taken at the onset of a common cold (preferably within 24 hours after the first sign of symptoms) help lessen the duration of symptoms such as coughing, headace and nasal congestion. Mason's Zinc Lozenges are twice the strength of the lozenges used in the clinical studies.

Now you can benefit from the enhanced combination of all three ingredieents needed ot maintain a healthy immune system throughout the cold and flu season. Mason's product uses natural flavoring agents that don't add more calories to your diet.

  • "Helps support the body's natural defense system."
  • "Maintains healthy immune system function."

Why should I take Zinc?
Zinc is involved in virtually every aspect of immunity. Like vitamin C, Zinc "possesses direct antiviral activity, including antiviral activity against several viruses that cause the common cold."

A double-blind clinical trial demonstrated zinc-containing lozenges significantly reduced the average duration of common colds by 7 days.4

What is Echinacea?
Echinacea is an herb native to the United States that has been highly valued for centuries by Native Americans. Today there are over 200 medical studies reporting on Echinacea's special immune stimulant capabilities. This research reveals that the phenolic compounds found in Echinacea can increase white blood cell count and their cellular defense fighting ability.

Recommended Dosage: Adults, allow a lozenge to dissolve slowly in mouth. One lozenge every 3 to 4 hours. Use 3 or 4 lozenges daily as a dietary supplement. Do not take on an empty stomach.

Cautions:

  • Do not take a total of more than 100 mg of zinc daily. While daily doses under 100 mg enhance the immune response, doses of more than 100 milligrams can depress the immune system. 5 If taken on an empty stomanch, zinc suplementation can result in gastrointestinal upset and nausea.
  • Long-term use in people who have chronically weakened immune systems may lead to further immune suppression. Commission E, an official body which has evaluated commonly-used herbs, has recommended that echinacea not be used in people with AIDS or chronic auto immune ailments, such as lupus.

Contraindication:

  • Zinc competes with copper for absorption, and other minerals (most notably calcium and iron) can adversely effect zinc absorption if supplemented at a high dosage. Zinc supplements should be taken apart from high-fiber foods for best absorption.
  • Do not take Echinacea if any of the following conditions applies to you: Not to be used when progressive systemic diseases such as the following exist: Tuberculosis, leukosis, collagenosis, mutiple sclerosis, AIDS, HIV infection, and other autommune diseases. Do not use during pregnancy or lactation.
